About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at MKS Inc., you will work within the Integrated Process Solutions team. You will report to the Senior Manager of Product Development and partner with the engineering, operations, and product marketing teams. This is a 3-month assignment starting in January 2026, with the possibility of an extension into the summer.
What you'll do#
- Support Sustaining Engineering activities and participate in Product Development projects.
- Assist in the design of reliable products with a focus on cost, serviceability, and manufacturability.
- Perform tests on prototypes to ensure they meet product specifications.
- Analyze data and evaluate results to make recommendations on next steps.
- Create detail and assembly drawings, bills of materials, design review presentations, and test reports.
- Maintain design documentation according to company standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Hands-on laboratory skills.
- Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical hardware.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Compensation: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days for interns working at least 20 hours per week.
