About the role#
As a Summer Research Program intern in the Air Traffic Control Systems group, you will join a product development team focused on aviation weather and decision support technologies. This role involves working on projects that improve air transportation safety, efficiency, and cyber-resiliency. You will work alongside scientists and engineers to address national security challenges through hands-on research.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to various stages of project development.
- Design and implement algorithms.
- Engineer real-time systems.
- Test project components.
- Create and maintain software documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Meteorology, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in software development using Python, C, C++, or Java.
- Experience with Machine Learning.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
- Experience with Cloud computing is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Lexington, Massachusetts.
- The program runs during the summer of 2027, typically lasting 10 to 12 weeks.
- Compensation is based on your highest academic year or degree completed prior to the start of the internship.
- Housing support is available for eligible non-local interns, including access to discounted university housing and a one-time relocation payment.
