About the role#
MIT Lincoln Laboratory is hiring a Cyber Security Co-op for the Winter and Spring 2027 terms. You will join a team that monitors and protects research systems from IT threats. This position is based on-site in Lexington, Massachusetts. You will work in a mission-driven research environment alongside security professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support the daily operations of the Cyber Security team.
- Monitor network traffic and analyze security alerts.
- Identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous activity.
- Develop and implement solutions to mitigate cyber security risks.
- Collaborate with team members to protect enterprise systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Familiarity with networking, operating systems, or security concepts.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
- Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
