About the role#
The Ballpark Operations Intern supports the Minot Hot Tots and Minot Honeybees by managing daily stadium operations, event logistics, and hospitality. This role is designed for students seeking hands-on experience in sports and event management. You will work closely with the Assistant General Manager to ensure the ballpark runs smoothly during the summer season.
What you'll do#
- Assist with receiving, inventorying, and organizing food and beverage orders while tracking waste and quality control.
- Manage concession locations, including setup, teardown, cleanliness, stocking, and staff training.
- Coordinate retail operations for the team store and e-commerce platform, including merchandise setup and inventory management.
- Support game day staff management, including scheduling and payroll assistance for concession employees.
- Oversee ballpark maintenance and cleaning, including post-game cleanup and facility upkeep.
- Create marketing promotions for food, beverage, and merchandise offerings.
- Represent the team at community events and promotional appearances, including performing as the team mascot at least once during the summer.
- Distribute marketing materials throughout the community and assist with general event setup and teardown.
What you'll need#
- Current student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
- Strong verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience with cash handling, customer service, and food operations.
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing between 50 and 160 pounds.
- Experience with power tools and maintenance is a plus.
- A self-motivated, team-oriented approach with the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Location & details#
- Location: Minot, North Dakota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 10 to August 13).
- Schedule: Weekday office hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, plus availability for all home games, team events, and outside community events, including weekends and holidays.
- Compensation: Paid position with housing available upon request.
