About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in sports operations, ticket sales, and fan engagement for the Minot Hot Tots and Minot Honeybees. Interns work across multiple departments to support home games, community events, and office operations during the summer season.
What you'll do#
- Connect with qualified sales leads through phone, email, and in-person outreach to support ticket sales goals.
- Manage box office operations on game nights, including ticket resolution, will-call support, and scanning tickets.
- Assist fans by directing them to seating and hospitality areas to ensure a positive experience.
- Learn and operate Northwoods League ticketing systems for reporting and order processing.
- Represent the team at community events, mascot appearances, and promotional activities.
- Promote sponsor activation pieces, such as distributing fan materials and selling merchandise.
- Execute ballpark setup, teardown, and cleaning tasks, including the Family Fun Zone and post-game maintenance.
- Perform as the team mascot at least once during the term.
- Distribute marketing materials like pocket schedules and posters throughout the community.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant field of study, such as Business Administration or Marketing.
- Strong verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs and work shifts lasting up to 14 hours.
- A self-motivated, team-oriented, and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Capability to multi-task and take initiative on assigned projects.
- Previous experience in customer service, management, or sales is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Minot, North Dakota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 10 to August 13).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Includes weekday office hours (9 AM-5 PM) plus all Minot Hot Tot and Minot Honeybees home games and select outside events (including weekends and holidays).
- Compensation: Paid position with a monthly stipend.
- Housing: Available upon request (intern is responsible for utilities).
