About the role#
Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union is hiring a part-time Teller for our Hurley Avenue branch in Kingston. This is a year-round position for students who want to work while attending school. You must be currently enrolled in school to be considered.
What you'll do#
- Process member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and cashing checks.
- Verify amounts, examine checks for endorsement, and follow fraud prevention procedures.
- Perform daily cash settlement, count cash shipments, and assist with end of night balancing.
- Manage opening and closing procedures for the branch.
- Perform first line maintenance, reconciliation, and settlement of equipment like ITMs, ATMs, and TCRs.
- Assist members with routine service needs, such as resetting passwords for home banking, issuing debit cards, and updating account information.
- Promote and cross-sell credit union products while maintaining referral tracking.
- Organize your workstation and greet members to ensure a professional environment.
- Maintain the privacy of member account information at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in school.
- High school education or GED.
- One to three years of similar or related experience.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple workloads and work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening and problem analysis.
- Ability to deal professionally with diverse personalities.
- Capability to bend, sit, and stand, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb or descend stairs in an emergency.
- Normal range of vision and hearing.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and spell accurately.
