    About the role#

    Mechanical Engineering Interns at Microsoft work on hardware for personal computing and cloud infrastructure. You will join teams focused on areas such as system integration, precision design, mechanisms, and product testing. This role involves contributing to real-world projects alongside teams across the globe.

    What you'll do#

    • Create designs and verification plans for hardware features or product extensions.
    • Develop prototype hardware components to support testing and validation.
    • Evaluate prototypes to optimize and mature designs.
    • Conceptualize and design mechanical parts using 3D CAD software.
    • Document technical details and follow established engineering procedures.
    • Collaborate with multiple disciplines to develop hardware technologies.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • At least one additional quarter or semester of school remaining after the internship concludes.
    • Proficiency in 3D CAD software for mechanical design.
    • At least 3 months of related technical engineering or internship experience.
