About the role#
We are looking for a Bridge Design Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our bridge practice to support project assignments under the direct supervision and mentorship of our staff. This role provides an opportunity to learn the profession through hands-on experience in Tampa, Tallahassee, Orlando, or Jacksonville.
What you'll do#
- Assist professionals with project plans, drawings, design, and analysis.
- Support Project Managers and Engineers with daily tasks.
- Collect, input, verify, and manipulate project data.
- Prepare basic studies, design work, and support field inspections.
- Complete simple to moderate calculations, including cost estimates.
- Perform routine analysis and summarize findings in reports.
- Write, edit, or create basic documents like spreadsheets and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Civil or Structural Engineering with good academic standing.
- A Master degree is preferred.
- Completed college-level engineering courses with a focus on structures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Experience with MicroStation is preferred.
- A valid U.S. Driver license.
- The ability to lift up to 30lbs and work outside in varying weather conditions during inspections.
