About the role#
This internship supports the Timekeeping team within the New York City Transit Department. You will assist in the development of a Workforce Management System designed to digitize leave requests and manager approvals. This project aims to move away from email-based processes to improve tracking and operational efficiency. You will work on-site in Brooklyn for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement components of a new Workforce Management System.
- Digitize timekeeping forms and streamline internal processes.
- Observe workflows and document opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare materials and track action items for Employee Focus Groups.
- Create quarterly training materials and internal communications.
- Organize, review, and enter employee time and leave data into the system.
- Build and maintain a centralized database for timekeeping resources.
- Analyze workforce data to support planning and recommend enhancements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program with at least a 2.5 GPA or a graduate program with at least a 2.8 GPA.
- Majors in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skills in Power Apps, Power Automate, or Power BI are a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret data, document workflows, and manage multiple assignments.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.

- Location: 130 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, New York.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site, minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $19.00 per hour for undergraduates and $21.00 per hour for graduate students.
