Student Employment Programs Specialist

About the role#

The Student Employment Programs Specialist serves as the HR staffing lead for the Off-Campus Work Study program at Metropolitan State University of Denver. This role focuses on enhancing the career readiness of student employees by managing program operations, facilitating professional development, and supporting supervisors. The position works within the Classroom to Career Hub (C2Hub) to align student employment with workforce development trends and institutional goals.

What you'll do#

• Manage the Off-Campus Work Study program, including outreach to community agencies, student recruitment, and job requisition management.
• Oversee the development and delivery of a competency-based professional development program for student employees.
• Coordinate and implement the Student Employment Job Fair to connect students with on-campus opportunities.
• Track and maintain documentation regarding student and employer participation.
• Collect and analyze data to assess the impact of programs on career readiness outcomes.
• Provide professional development support to supervisors of student employees.
• Serve as a liaison to Human Resources, Financial Aid, and other campus partners to improve employment processes.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience leading and executing programs, workflows, or projects across departments or community partners.
• Experience working in student services, workforce development, recruiting, or career readiness.
• Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, or similar process management tools.
• Experience leading and executing events, workshops, or engagement programs.

Location & details#

• Location: Denver, Colorado.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (primarily in-person with the opportunity for remote work based on operational needs).
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Term: Rolling.
