About the role#
The Student Employment Programs Specialist serves as the HR staffing lead for the Off-Campus Work Study program at Metropolitan State University of Denver. This role focuses on enhancing the career readiness of student employees by managing program operations, developing professional development initiatives, and fostering connections between students and employers. The position operates within the Classroom to Career Hub (C2Hub) and requires a commitment to equity and inclusion while supporting the university's goal of engaging students in robust career planning.
What you'll do#
- Manage the Off-Campus Work Study program by conducting outreach, training community agencies, recruiting student employees, and overseeing job requisitions.
- Develop and deliver a competency-based professional development program focused on NACE career readiness skills.
- Coordinate and implement the Student Employment Job Fair to connect students with on-campus opportunities.
- Track and maintain documentation on program participation and analyze data to assess career readiness outcomes.
- Support professional development opportunities for supervisors of student employees.
- Serve as a liaison to Human Resources and Financial Aid departments to streamline employment processes.
- Participate in campus committees and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Experience leading and executing programs, workflows, or stakeholder-facing operations.
- Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, or similar process management tools.
- Experience working in student services, workforce development, recruiting, or career readiness.
- Experience leading and executing events, workshops, or engagement programs.
Location & details#
- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Work Modality: This is a full-time, hybrid position with the opportunity to work remotely one or two days per week based on operational needs.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
