    About the role#

    The Executive Office Intern supports the Senior Executive Assistant to the General Manager. You will help manage the day-to-day operations of the Executive Office. This role offers a look at how the Metropolitan Opera runs. It is a part-time, paid position requiring at least 25 hours per week.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide phone coverage for the General Manager and other staff.
    • Fax, copy, and prepare documents for distribution or mailing.
    • Prepare reports as requested by the Senior Executive Assistant.
    • Transcribe dictation.
    • Greet and escort visitors from the Stage Door or Front of the House.
    • Offer hospitality services to guests of the General Manager.
    • Order and maintain office supplies.
    • Retrieve packages and handle customer complaints.
    • Assist the Senior Executive Assistant with daily tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • A completed Bachelor degree and current enrollment in a Master degree program.
    • Prior experience as an Administrative Assistant.
    • Familiarity with opera or experience in a non-profit environment.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and handle tasks simultaneously.
    • Neat and legible handwriting.
    • Ability to type at a moderate speed.

    • Location: Lincoln Center, New York, NY.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: This role requires flexible hours, including evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays during the season.
    • Compensation: 17 dollars per hour.
