About the role#
Methode Electronics is seeking a Safety Intern to support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in sustainability reporting, safety training development, and process improvement. You will work with EHS professionals to enhance compliance and operational excellence.
What you'll do#
- Collect, validate, and aggregate utility data to support sustainability metrics.
- Assist with greenhouse gas emissions tracking and process standardization.
- Develop and maintain safety training materials and educational resources.
- Manage Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including training assignments and record keeping.
- Support the implementation of visitor management processes and site safety protocols.
- Research safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze safety and environmental data to identify trends and improvement actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on EHS projects.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and training activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and risk management.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or sustainability metrics is preferred.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.
- Experience using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude is preferred.

- Location: Southfield, Michigan.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
