About the role#
Methode Electronics is seeking a Finance Intern to join the FP&A team. This role provides hands-on experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and performance reporting within a global manufacturing environment. You will work alongside business leaders to support data-informed decision-making and gain exposure to modern financial planning tools.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Support financial close processes by performing variance analysis and reporting on performance.
- Analyze financial results to identify trends in revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Create management reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Conduct cost, pricing, and margin analyses.
- Work with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Sales teams to gather data and improve reporting.
- Research market and macroeconomic trends to support strategic planning.
- Use data analytics and AI tools to improve reporting efficiency and automate workflows.
- Contribute to special projects and ad hoc financial analyses.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of financial statements, corporate finance principles, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables.
- Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly through presentations and reports.
- High attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude is preferred.
