Engineer Co-Op

About the role#

This Engineer Co-Op position provides hands-on experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment. You will support machining and assembly operations by contributing to productivity, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work alongside engineering and quality teams to address customer needs and participate in cross-functional projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist in improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
• Document process improvements, communicate updates, and support team training initiatives.
• Analyze best practices and participate in problem-solving activities to develop optimized manufacturing processes.
• Support the full engineering change process, including quoting, implementation, launch, and shop-floor support.
• Contribute to process control systems, project documentation, standard work instructions, and equipment or tooling initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on customer corrective actions.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program for Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Standing as a junior or earlier, with at least one year remaining before graduation.
• Ability to commit to a long-term internship of at least 12 months.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PFMEA, Lean Manufacturing principles, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Location & details#

• Location: Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
• Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Full-time, with a minimum of 25 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week.
• Hours: Preferred shift is 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility to align with student schedules.
