About the role#
This position involves supervising and facilitating intramural sports activities at Messiah University. You will help ensure that games and events run according to plan while representing the department on the field or court. This role is paid at $8.00 per hour and covers the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Represent the Intramural Sports Department at games, contests, and events.
- Arrive at the competition site 20 minutes before the start to set up the venue and issue equipment to officials or team captains.
- Manage events by ensuring players, captains, and officials follow all protocols.
- Report scores and outcomes to the Student Manager.
- Track all equipment to ensure it is returned to the Equipment Coordinator.
- Report all accidents, injuries, or concerns to the Coordinator of Intramural Sports.
- Assist the Intramural Sports Student Manager as needed.
What you'll need#
- A background in sports.
- The ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.
- Comfort in confronting and approaching your peers.
- The ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- A responsible and dependable nature.
- Kinesiology majors are encouraged to apply.
- You must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions depending on the sport. The required dress code is a staff T-shirt and sneakers.
