About the role#
Union Cafe staff handle guest service and food preparation duties. The cafe operates from 7:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on weekdays and until midnight on weekends. We are busiest during dinner hours and throughout the weekend. You are expected to work at least one critical shift, such as lunch, late night, or weekends. This position pays $11.00 per hour and includes a free meal with every shift.
What you'll do#
- Provide quality food and service to all customers.
- Assist the management team with stocking, cleaning, and food preparation.
- Interact with customers and team members with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Keep all stations and service areas clean and stocked.
- Support coworkers at other stations when your own area is slow.
- Clean equipment and facilities as directed.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
What you'll need#
- A positive attitude, self-motivation, and flexibility.
- Ability to take direction and work well with others or independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform job functions requiring prolonged standing, walking on hard surfaces, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Previous experience in food service, catering, or retail is helpful but not required.
- Adherence to the uniform policy: jeans, black shirt, closed-toe shoes with socks, and a hat with a name tag. Hair touching the shoulders must be tied back, and jewelry is restricted to stud earrings.
