About the role#
Messiah University is hiring a Falcon Student Worker for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. You will earn $11.00 per hour and receive a free meal with every shift.
What you'll do#
- Provide dining and catering services to guests.
- Prepare and serve menu items in a timely and attractive way.
- Interact with customers and team members with a friendly, welcoming attitude.
- Keep work areas stocked and clean.
- Assist coworkers at other stations when your area is slow.
- Stay busy by prepping, cleaning, or stocking in the kitchen.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
- Clean equipment and facilities as directed.
What you'll need#
- A positive, self-motivated, and flexible attitude.
- The ability to work well with others or independently without supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A background in food service or catering is helpful.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs using proper techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as prolonged standing, pushing, pulling, and walking on hard surfaces.
- Availability to work day, evening, and weekend shifts.
- Adherence to a specific dress code, including a black shirt, jeans, closed-toe shoes with socks, and a hat with a nametag.
