About the role#
This position involves providing DJ entertainment for student dances hosted by the Student Activities Board and the Multicultural Council. Hired students join an approved DJ list for the 2026-2027 academic year. Please note that being on this list does not guarantee a contract for specific events. This is a paid position at $8.50 per hour involving occasional late night and weekend work.
What you'll do#
- Provide DJ entertainment for campus dances as contracted.
- Create set lists that match event themes and submit them to the advisor and hosting organization for approval.
- Assist with the set up and tear down of DJ equipment.
- Help the Conference Service Tech Crew with sound checks.
- Attend event planning meetings to prepare for upcoming dances.
- Make announcements to student guests during events.
- Adhere to all university dance and music policies.
What you'll need#
- Experience DJing events.
- Proficiency in operating DJ sound boards, equipment, and software.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Commitment to following specific dance and music policies set by the Student Activities Board and Multicultural Council.
- Reliability and consistent attendance.
