About the role#
This position supports the Information Security team with tasks related to intrusion detection and the protection of the Messiah University network and data. You will work on-site in a part-time capacity.
What you'll do#
- Identify and solve security problems by spotting abnormalities and reporting violations.
- Assess the current security situation to implement improvements.
- Evaluate trends and anticipate future security requirements.
- Determine development needs to better identify threats.
- Maintain consistent attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Computer Science or Cybersecurity studies.
- Basic knowledge of networks, network protocols, and cyber-based attacks.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with routers, hubs, and switches.
- Programming skills in languages such as PHP, Java, or C#.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication skills and an outgoing personality.
- A willingness to learn new tasks and skills.
- Ability to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

- Location: Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $9.50 per hour.
- Dress Code: Neat and clean appearance is required. Cutoffs or torn clothing are not permitted.
