About the role#
As a Student Class Leader for Wellness Exercise, you will support the Falcon Fitness Center at Messiah University by leading group exercise sessions for students, staff, and community members. This role requires a commitment to professional conduct and consistent attendance during the Fall 2026 term. Classes may be scheduled during early morning or evening hours to accommodate participant availability.
What you'll do#
- Plan and lead safe, effective, and enjoyable exercise sessions.
- Promote exercise classes to encourage participation.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance for all scheduled sessions.
- Submit exercise session plans to the wellness director upon request.
- Complete time sheets immediately following each session.
- Report any injuries or operational problems to the wellness director.
- Wear professional exercise attire that is appropriate and non-distracting.
- Adhere to university guidelines regarding music selection for public events.
What you'll need#
- Current certification appropriate for the specific exercise program being led.
- Strong knowledge of safe and effective exercise techniques.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A motivational and enthusiastic approach to helping others improve their wellness.
- Ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
