About the role#
The Clinical Nursing Student position at Springfield Regional Medical Center offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Med-Surg unit. You will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care, develop your clinical skills, and participate in the nursing process. This is a paid, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care as delegated by a Registered Nurse.
- Record vital signs and perform basic patient care tasks.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
- Report changes in patient condition or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality service for patients and their families.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a nursing program.
- Completion of at least one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
- The ability to follow directions and communicate clearly with the healthcare team.
- Knowledge of patient safety standards, infection prevention, and healthcare regulations.
