About the role#
This 11-week summer internship provides a foundation in retail operations and store leadership. You will work on-site in St. Charles, Illinois, gaining exposure to the full scope of store management. The program is designed to build your leadership capabilities, business acumen, and retail knowledge. During the first half of the internship, you will learn core competencies. In the second half, you will step into an Intern Team Leader role to manage business results, team engagement, and the customer experience.
What you'll do#
- Plan, direct, and supervise daily operations across various departments.
- Manage the P&L, support sales goals, and maintain store appearance.
- Mentor and coach team members, including onboarding new hires.
- Implement strategies to improve customer service and ensure needs are met.
- Model professional service and promote a safe work environment.
- Deliver final presentations to senior executives regarding your projects.
- Communicate with customers and staff throughout the store to ensure operational standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Business Administration or Operations Management.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
- A strong drive for results and a focus on customer needs.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Prior retail experience or past leadership roles in work or extracurricular activities are strongly preferred.
