About the role#
MDU Resources Group is hiring an IT Service Desk Intern to join our team in Bismarck. You will work with an Associate Endpoint Administrator who acts as your mentor. Through a phased approach, you will job shadow until you are ready to perform tasks independently. This role involves hardware and software support, including configuration, installation, and troubleshooting for physical and virtual endpoints. You will provide support via phone, email, chat, and in-person interactions. This position may be eligible for scholarship funding.
What you'll do#
- Document incidents, resolutions, and time spent in the ticketing system.
- Assist with mobile device, printer, and PC support, including setups and deployments.
- Help with corporate image deployment and software installation.
- Support the Help Desk by handling incoming calls and chats.
- Complete administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Ability to protect networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access or damage.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- A valid driver license may be required.
Location & details#
- This internship is located on-site at our corporate campus in Bismarck, North Dakota.
- The role is part-time, typically ranging from 16 to 20 hours per week based on your school schedule and business needs.
- You may have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during summer months and school breaks.
- The hourly rate for this position is $18.50.
