About the role#
As a Co-op in the Building Services Division, you will join the team to handle mechanical, plumbing, and building automation service and retrofit projects. You will work alongside Account Coordinators and Account Managers to see projects through to completion. This is a full-time position that requires completing at least two alternating rotations, starting in Summer 2027 and Spring 2028.
What you'll do#
- Manage mechanical, plumbing, and building automation service work.
- Coordinate with vendors to procure equipment and materials.
- Update project schedules and lead meetings to review the weekly labor calendar.
- Review drawings and visit jobsites to create estimates and proposals.
- Handle submittals, obtain permits, and schedule inspections.
- Survey project sites to ensure they meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Support Account Managers by generating POs, performing take-offs, creating sketches and as-builts, and preparing closeout documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Co-op program at an accredited engineering school.
- Pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Ability to complete at least two full-time, alternating Co-op rotations.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- A team-oriented approach and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including project managers, field staff, and fabrication shops.
- Preference for candidates who can commit to three or more full-time semesters.
