About the role#
McClure Engineering is offering an 8-month Co-Op program for an Electrical Engineering student. This role runs from May through December 2027. You will work under the supervision of an experienced engineer to gain practical experience in MEP engineering.
What you'll do#
- Perform electrical design for lighting, power distribution, and communication systems, including fire alarms.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical drafters to produce construction drawings and specifications.
- Apply engineering calculations to various projects.
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and circuits.
- Research and select equipment that meets project and client requirements.
- Solve technical problems that arise during the design and construction phases.
- Communicate with project stakeholders.
- Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- You have completed your sophomore or junior year.
- You maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.3 or higher.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You are able to perform physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Location & details#
- This role is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
- The position is on-site.
- You will spend about 90 percent of your time in the office and 10 percent at project or construction sites. The firm provides necessary personal protective equipment for site visits.
