    About the role#

    Mazzetti is seeking Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering interns for the Summer 2027 program. This 8-12 week internship bridges classroom theory with professional practice. You will work on active projects alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to learn how building systems are designed, modeled, and brought to life.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with building calculations for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
    • Model MEP systems using industry-standard design tools.
    • Support the preparation and refinement of construction drawings.
    • Learn company engineering standards, workflows, and quality approaches.
    • Support sustainability initiatives, such as energy modeling or LEED documentation.
    • Participate in project planning, design discussions, and interdisciplinary coordination.
    • Engage in limited site visits or construction observation to see designs implemented in the field.
    • Contribute to a capstone presentation highlighting your learning at the end of the program.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, or a related engineering discipline.
    • Interest in building systems, consulting engineering, and the design of the built environment.
    • Ability to organize work, manage responsibilities, and follow through on tasks.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
    • Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions and seek feedback.
    • Interest in learning new technical tools and pursuing professional engineering licensure.
    • Familiarity with Revit or other design software is preferred, though not required.
    • Coursework in engineering design, building systems, or sustainability is a plus.

    Location & details#

    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid. Interns are expected to work from their local office 2-3 days per week.
    • Locations: Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Portland, OR; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Seattle, WA; or St. Louis, MO.
    • Compensation: $23 - $35 per hour, based on education, experience, and location.
    • Status: Paid, full-time internship.
