Accounting Intern (Spring 2027)

About the role#

As an Accounting Intern in the Annuity Finance organization, you will gain hands-on experience by performing the day-to-day work of accounting professionals. You will be responsible for a small book of business, handling accounting functions from posting journal entries to financial analysis. This position offers the opportunity to learn from a collaborative group of leaders while working on core accounting tasks.

What you'll do#

• Record monthly journal entries and review trial balances in the general ledger system.
• Prepare reports, schedules, and financial statements for management use.
• Maintain documentation of processes and tasks.
• Assist with the analysis of statutory and GAAP financial statements.
• Develop an understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting guidance for the insurance industry.
• Compose analytical schedules and gather information for independent auditors.
• Perform routine accounting activities and participate in process improvement projects.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in at least the second year of a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management and prioritization capabilities.
