About the role#
As an Accounting Intern in the Annuity Finance organization, you will gain hands-on experience by performing the day-to-day work of accounting professionals. You will be responsible for a small book of business, handling accounting functions from posting journal entries to financial analysis. This position offers the opportunity to learn from a collaborative group of leaders while working on core accounting tasks.
What you'll do#
- Record monthly journal entries and review trial balances in the general ledger system.
- Prepare reports, schedules, and financial statements for management use.
- Maintain documentation of processes and tasks.
- Assist with the analysis of statutory and GAAP financial statements.
- Develop an understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting guidance for the insurance industry.
- Compose analytical schedules and gather information for independent auditors.
- Perform routine accounting activities and participate in process improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in at least the second year of a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management and prioritization capabilities.
