About the role#
This Pre-Doctoral Fellow position is based at The Brigham and Women's Hospital. You will work in a research lab focusing on transplantation immunology. This role is designed for a student currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in medicine, biological sciences, or a related field. You will conduct research independently under the supervision of a principal investigator to fulfill requirements for your degree program and prepare for future independent research.
What you'll do#
- Design experiments and modify techniques to meet specific research needs.
- Execute research projects, including participation in large animal experiments and laboratory research.
- Collect and record study data while maintaining detailed laboratory notebooks.
- Synthesize and interpret experimental data using advanced statistical techniques.
- Collaborate with principal investigators to draft manuscripts for journal publications and present findings at professional meetings.
- Develop new investigative techniques and determine appropriate research directions.
- Provide functional guidance to technical and animal care personnel.
- Participate in lab meetings and research seminars.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Current enrollment in a graduate degree program in medicine, biological sciences, or related fields.
- Ability to perform and interpret assay data.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and internet research.
- Capability to work safely and properly use required protective equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with consistency and accuracy.
