About the role#
As a Firmware Engineer Intern, you will work on embedded firmware for advanced hardware platforms. This includes projects related to data center devices, AI hardware, SSD controllers, and networking chips. You will join cross-functional teams to build and maintain solutions that support our data infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for hardware platforms.
- Design and implement device drivers and firmware features for communication protocols like SPI, I2C, I3C, UART, MDIO, PCIe, and NVMe.
- Participate in the full product lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation, testing, and validation.
- Create and improve automation scripts for testing and failure analysis.
- Collaborate with hardware, system, and QA teams on integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Proficiency in Python or C.
- Experience working in Windows or Linux development environments.
- Understanding of computer architecture, networking fundamentals, or embedded systems.
