    About the role#

    This internship position within the Optical PHY (CE-OPHY) team focuses on the design of high-speed and optical transceivers for communication infrastructure. You will work alongside senior engineers to support the development of advanced chips and subsystems for data centers and cloud computing architectures.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the analog design team in architectural exploration and circuit implementation for blocks including PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, regulators, amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, and clock/data recovery circuits.
    • Assist in design verification processes using tools such as SPICE, Spectre, and MATLAB.
    • Collaborate with layout, verification, and application teams to deliver analog IP from initial concept through to tape-out.
    • Participate in lab bring-up and debugging activities under the guidance of senior team members.
    • Document technical findings, contribute to design reviews, and learn best practices in analog and mixed-signal design.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Coursework or project experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design.
    • Familiarity with analog design tools such as Virtuoso, Spectre, and ADE.
    • A basic understanding of signal integrity, noise reduction, and clock generation techniques.
    • Exposure to design concepts including PLLs, ADCs, oscillators, and SerDes (TX/RX) is considered an asset.
    • Interest in learning about FinFET layout considerations and their impact on high-speed designs.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
