About the role#
As an AMS Layout Engineer Intern, you will focus on the physical design of high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits. You will join the team building optical link solutions for data-centric computing, working on photonic transceivers and Electronic Integrated Circuits. This role is a full-time, paid internship based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Design high-speed analog and mixed-signal layouts using advanced CMOS technology.
- Manage transistor level floor planning and routing.
- Verify layouts against design rules (DRC) and schematic connectivity (LVS).
- Collaborate with Analog Circuit Design engineers to optimize layouts for performance.
- Write custom scripts to improve the tools and methods used by the team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, or a related field.
- A solid foundation in CMOS digital electronics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Experience with analog electronics is a plus.
- Python and Perl programming experience is a plus.
