Pharmacist Intern

About the role#

Marshall Health is seeking a Pharmacist Intern to support daily operations in a clinical pharmacy setting. This position requires a commitment of at least 10 working hours per week, including two weekend shifts per month. This is a paid, on-site, full-time role.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to ensure high-quality patient care and customer service.
• Manage the prescription filling process, including processing drug orders, transfers, and voicemails under direct supervision.
• Communicate clearly with patients, clinicians, and medical providers to clarify drug orders.
• Provide patient counseling and information regarding medication and affordability options.
• Assist with immunizations as permitted by law and participate in pharmacy compounding.
• Support inventory management, including controlled substances and quarterly or annual inventory counts.
• Handle point-of-sale tasks and participate in staff meetings and required training.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a School of Pharmacy.
• Retail pharmacy experience is preferred.
• Ability to assist with prescription drug orders and knowledge of medication affordability options.
• Experience with immunizations.
