About the role#
The Retirement Sales Internship at Manulife John Hancock is a full-time summer program for students. This role offers an immersive learning experience within retirement sales, focusing on sales strategy, financial products, and client engagement. You will work alongside internal sales leadership and business partners to build a foundation for your future career.
What you'll do#
- Build foundational knowledge of investments, financial products, privacy, compliance, and the John Hancock business model.
- Train on core sales systems including Salesforce, Brightscope Beacon, and various investment comparison tools.
- Support the retirement sales division by conducting research, preparing reports, and contributing to internal projects.
- Attend networking sessions with experts from National Accounts, Investments, Marketing, and Product teams.
- Participate in professional development workshops and receive coaching from sales leaders and the learning and development team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance and a clear interest in a finance or sales career after graduation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Prior internship or client-facing work experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
- Leadership experience through campus involvement or extracurricular activities is valued.

- This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The position follows a hybrid work model.
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
