About the role#
MAHLE is hiring a Tax Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Farmington Hills, Michigan. You will work directly with our tax team to manage compliance, research complex issues, and support our internal tax processes.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal, state, local, and Canadian tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Support indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax, property tax, and HST/GST filings.
- Research federal, international, and indirect tax topics and summarize your findings for the team.
- Help prepare documentation for tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Maintain sales and use tax logs and exemption certificates.
- Assist with monthly close tasks, such as account analysis, reconciliations, and data collection.
- Collaborate with internal departments like accounting, IT, and accounts payable, as well as external vendors.
- Monitor and track law changes that affect our tax positions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Strong Excel skills, specifically with macros and pivot tables.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with SAP or OneSource software is an asset.
