About the role#
As a Warranty Quality Engineering Intern, you will gain practical experience in quality assurance and warranty analysis. This role involves working within the manufacturing industry to understand the methodologies used to identify root causes of product issues. This is a year-round, full-time internship based in Holly, Michigan, requiring a commitment of at least 12 months with the potential for extension.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Warranty Quality Engineering team on projects including receiving returned products and performing standardized testing.
- Conduct test studies to assess root causes and ensure data accuracy in the warranty database.
- Read schematics, wiring documentation, and communication lines for device testing.
- Assist with quality assurance activities such as audits and inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
- Help the team provide timely responses to customers regarding warranty claims.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify risks and develop countermeasures for quality issues.
- Perform gauging tasks for repeatability and reproducibility.
What you'll need#
- Currently attending a college or university, preferably pursuing a degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- High School Diploma.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical skills, including data management and the ability to create Pareto charts.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of basic software coding.
- Some soldering experience and related work experience are preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis is preferred.
