About the role#
This internship provides administrative support to the Launch team at Magna Seating of America. You will assist with the coordination of pilot seat shipments, including tracking, labeling, and transportation arrangements. You will also spend time on the plant floor to review, label, and pack test seats.
What you'll do#
- Lead cross-functional teams in tracking part changes and ensuring the plant change process is followed and documented.
- Manage and document Product Evaluation Runs and trials.
- Handle communication with the customer regarding all tracking requirements.
- Maintain and update the Magna Seating Detroit plant change process database.
- Facilitate weekly meetings to discuss new product launches.
- Lead pre-production builds and report results to plant management.
- Ensure all departments update documentation for new changes.
- Coordinate launch and change-related activities with suppliers and internal teams.
- Provide regular status updates on open issues.
- Track engineering changes from Corporate Engineering to ensure proper implementation at the plant.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited degree program for business management, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team and interact with people at all levels.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and manufacturing or business software.
- Understanding of Bill of Material structures and part numbering systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and facilitate meetings.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
