About the role#
This 8-week paid internship provides exposure to the leadership side of retail. You will work on-site at a Macy's store to learn about customer service, merchandising, business analysis, and store operations. The program runs from June through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product displays.
- Coach and develop a team of colleagues to maintain a customer-focused environment.
- Analyze retail trends to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
- Support daily store operations and train colleagues.
- Explore retail strategies and business analytics.
- Complete a project and presentation proposing ideas for business growth.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- You are currently in your junior year of an accredited bachelor's degree program. All majors are welcome to apply.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- You have strong communication and organizational skills.
- You are a self-motivated problem-solver with a positive attitude.
- You have a sincere passion for engaging with people.
- You possess strong business acumen.
- The role requires the ability to sit, talk, and hear, as well as the ability to move about the workplace and use your hands to handle items.
