About the role#
This 8-week paid internship provides exposure to the core functions of managing a retail store. You will learn about customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, operations, and colleague development. This program is designed as a test run to determine job and culture fit, with the potential for an offer to join the Store Management Executive Development Program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership best practices and receive constructive feedback.
- Shadow managers in operations and visual merchandising to plan and execute product initiatives.
- Coach and develop team members to maintain a customer-focused selling environment.
- Support daily store operations through training and guidance.
- Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
- Explore retail strategies by examining the analytical side of the business.
- Develop a project and presentation to propose new ideas for business growth to store leadership.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect while engaging with leaders across various business functions.
What you'll need#
- You are currently in your junior year of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, and all majors are welcome.
- You possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- You are a self-motivated problem-solver with a results-driven mindset.
- You have a sincere passion for engaging with people and a positive attitude.
- You demonstrate strong business acumen and a curiosity for retail.
- You are able to sit, talk, and hear, and can use your hands to touch and handle items. You may occasionally need to move around the workplace.
