About the role#
This 8-week paid internship provides exposure to the operations of a retail department store. You will learn about customer service, merchandising, business analysis, and store operations. The program runs from June through August 2027 and is based on-site in Salem, New Hampshire. Successful completion of the program may lead to an offer for the Store Management Executive Development Program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute merchandising initiatives.
- Coach and develop a team of colleagues to build a customer-focused environment.
- Support daily store operations through training and coaching.
- Analyze trends with business partners to select merchandise.
- Study the analytical side of the business to understand retail strategies.
- Complete a project and presentation to propose new ideas for business growth.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues and customers.
- Engage with leaders across various business functions.
What you'll need#
- You are currently in your junior year of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited university.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred, and all majors are welcome to apply.
- You are self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- You possess a sincere passion for engaging with people.
- You are a problem-solver who is results-driven.
- You have strong business acumen.
- You are able to sit, talk, and hear, and can occasionally move about the workplace.
