About the role#
This 8-week paid internship provides exposure to the operations of a retail department store. You will learn about customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, and human resources. As part of a store leadership team, you will collaborate on solutions and gain insight into retail strategies.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product merchandising.
- Engage with leaders across various business functions.
- Develop a customer-focused selling environment by training and coaching colleagues.
- Analyze trends to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
- Explore the analytical side of the business to understand retail strategies.
- Propose new ideas for business growth through a project and presentation.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your junior year of an accredited university and on track to earn a bachelor’s degree.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- All majors are welcome to apply.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- A sincere passion for engaging with people.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve problems and drive results.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to handle or touch items.
