About the role#
The Store Management Internship is an 8-week paid program that provides exposure to the operations of a retail department store. You will work on-site in Santa Ana, California, from June 1 through August 2027. This role offers an introduction to leadership, merchandising, business analysis, and store operations. Successful completion of the program may lead to an offer for the Store Management Executive Development Program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow managers in operations and visual merchandising to plan and execute product initiatives.
- Coach and train colleagues to support daily store operations and build a customer-focused environment.
- Analyze business trends to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
- Explore retail strategies by working with the analytical side of the business.
- Develop and present a project to store leadership that proposes ideas for business growth.
- Engage with leaders across various business functions within the store and region.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- You are a junior year student working toward a bachelor degree from an accredited university.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred, and all majors are welcome.
- You are self-motivated with a positive attitude and a sincere passion for engaging with people.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
- You possess strong business acumen and a results-driven mindset.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit, talk, and hear, as well as the ability to occasionally move about the workplace, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers. Close vision is required.
