About the role#
The Store Management Internship is an 8-week program designed to provide exposure to the core operations of a retail department store. You will work on-site to learn about leadership, merchandising, business analysis, and team development. This is a paid opportunity for students to gain experience in a retail environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product displays.
- Engage with store and regional leadership across various business functions.
- Develop a customer-focused environment by coaching colleagues.
- Support daily store operations through staff training.
- Analyze trends and business data to select merchandise and understand retail strategies.
- Implement new ideas and test them within the store.
- Complete a project and presentation focused on business growth.
- Build relationships with colleagues, customers, and the local community.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a junior working toward a bachelor degree.
- A 3.0 cumulative GPA is preferred, though all majors are welcome.
- You are self-motivated and maintain a positive attitude.
- You have a sincere passion for engaging with people.
- You are a results-driven problem-solver.
- You possess strong business acumen.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving around the workplace, reaching, and handling items.
