About the role#
This 8-week paid internship offers a look into the management of a retail department store. You will gain experience across customer service, merchandising, business analysis, operations, and human resources. The program runs from June through August 2027 and provides a chance to evaluate your fit for a career in retail management. Upon successful completion, you may be considered for the Store Management Executive Development Program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Work with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow managers in operations and visual merchandising to execute product initiatives.
- Engage with leaders across various business functions.
- Coach and develop a team of colleagues to build a customer-focused environment.
- Train colleagues to support daily store operations.
- Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise.
- Study retail metrics to understand big-picture strategies.
- Complete a final project and presentation proposing ideas for business growth.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect for colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- You are in your junior year of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred, though all majors are welcome to apply.
- You are self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- You have a sincere passion for engaging with people.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
- You are a problem-solver who is results-driven.
- You possess strong business acumen.
- The role requires physical tasks such as sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to handle items. You may also need to move around the workplace and reach with your arms.
