About the role#
This is an 8-week paid internship program running from June through August 2027. You will work on-site at a Macy's store in Orlando. The role provides exposure to store leadership, including operations, merchandising, business analysis, and colleague development. Successful interns may be considered for the Store Management Executive Development Program upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow managers to plan and execute merchandising initiatives.
- Coach and train colleagues to maintain smooth daily operations and a customer-focused environment.
- Analyze trends to select merchandise that fits customer needs.
- Explore retail strategies through business analysis.
- Propose new ideas for business growth through a final project and presentation.
- Foster an environment of respect and acceptance.
- Engage with leaders across various store business functions.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a junior working toward a bachelor's degree at an accredited university.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred, though all majors are welcome.
- Strong business acumen and a results-driven mindset.
- Ability to solve problems and communicate effectively.
- A sincere interest in engaging with people.
- Self-motivation and a positive attitude.
- Physical ability to sit, talk, hear, and use hands regularly, with occasional movement around the workplace.
