About the role#
This 8-week summer internship provides exposure to the development and execution of private label brands. You will work with the Product Development team to support assortment execution, participate in key milestone meetings, and collaborate with Buying, Design, and Sourcing partners. The program includes hands-on learning, workshops, and projects to help you understand core retail business functions.
What you'll do#
- Receive professional development through hands-on learning, workshops, and projects.
- Build relationships with other interns, business leaders, and team colleagues.
- Competitive shop to understand competitor assortment.
- Partner with overseas offices, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support sample management and product development milestones.
- Manage and track meeting samples and review sample execution with the team.
- Assist in creating initial styles in PLM and OMS systems.
- Support preparation for Mid-Point, Pre-Line, Line Review, and Post Buy Recap meetings.
- Assist in keying and tracking assortment purchase orders throughout the season.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Junior standing (rising senior) pursuing a bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- All majors are considered.
- Strong retail math, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze sales, margin, inventory turn, and sell-through metrics.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas, with the ability to work with large datasets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of merchandising and assortment planning principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities.
- High attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, and crouching.
