About the role#
The Macy's Store Management Internship Program is an 8-week paid, full-time opportunity based on-site in Costa Mesa, California. This program runs from June 1 through August 2027. You will gain exposure to the leadership side of retail, including customer service, merchandising, business analysis, and store operations. Upon successful completion and store recommendation, you may be considered for the Store Management Executive Development Program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow managers in operations and visual merchandising to plan and execute product initiatives.
- Engage with leaders across various business functions within the store and region.
- Develop a customer-focused selling environment by coaching and training team members.
- Support daily store operations and analyze trends with partners to select merchandise.
- Explore retail strategies and the analytical side of the business.
- Complete a project and presentation to propose new ideas for business growth.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- Current junior status in a bachelor's degree program, with all majors considered.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a sincere passion for engaging with people.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A results-driven mindset with strong business acumen.
- Ability to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel, with occasional movement around the workplace.
