About the role#
This 8-week paid internship provides exposure to store leadership, including operations, merchandising, human resources, and asset protection. You will work on-site at a Macy's location in Raleigh, North Carolina, during the summer of 2027. This program serves as an introduction to retail management and may lead to a position in the Store Management Executive Development Program upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales and Customer Experience to learn leadership practices.
- Shadow managers of operations and visual merchandising to plan and execute product displays.
- Coach colleagues to build a customer-focused selling environment and support daily store operations.
- Analyze business data and trends to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
- Engage with leaders across various business functions.
- Complete a project and presentation proposing ideas for business growth.
- Build relationships with colleagues, customers, and the local community.
What you'll need#
- You are currently in your junior year of an accredited bachelor's degree program.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred, and all majors are welcome to apply.
- You have strong communication and organizational skills.
- You are a self-motivated problem-solver who is driven by results.
- You possess a sincere interest in working with people and strong business acumen.
- The role requires the ability to sit, talk, hear, and use your hands to handle or touch items. You may occasionally need to move about the workplace.
