About the role#
The Macy's Store Management Internship is an 8-week, paid, full-time program. It provides exposure to the core functions of running a retail store, including customer service, merchandising, business analysis, and operations. This internship takes place on-site from June through August 2027. Successful completion may lead to an offer for the Store Management Executive Development Program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to learn leadership best practices.
- Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product initiatives.
- Engage with leadership across various business functions within the store and region.
- Develop a customer-focused environment by coaching and training colleagues.
- Analyze sales trends with business partners to select merchandise.
- Explore retail strategies by analyzing business data.
- Complete a project and presentation proposing new ideas for business growth.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect among colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. All majors are welcome to apply. A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- You are self-motivated with a positive attitude and a sincere passion for engaging with people.
- You are a problem-solver who is driven by results and possesses strong business acumen.
- The role requires close vision and the ability to sit, talk, and hear. You will use your hands to touch, handle, and feel objects. You may occasionally need to move about the workplace and reach with your hands and arms.
