About the role#
The Loyalty Intern supports the evolution of the Macy's Star Rewards program. You will help develop go-to-market strategies, launch new customer benefits, and analyze program performance. This 8-week internship provides hands-on experience in a core retail business function. You will work across multiple areas of the business to deliver engaging loyalty experiences and gain exposure to senior leaders.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of go-to-market strategies for new Star Rewards benefits and customer experiences across stores, digital, app, and marketing channels.
- Collaborate with Loyalty, Stores, Digital, Technology, Marketing, Legal, and Data & Analytics teams to support program launches.
- Assist with launch planning, customer communications, benefit journeys, and operational requirements.
- Analyze loyalty program, campaign, and business performance data to uncover key insights.
- Conduct customer, market, and competitive research to identify opportunities for program enhancements.
- Support the execution and measurement of loyalty and credit marketing initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer engagement and loyalty experiences.
What you'll need#
- Junior standing (rising senior) pursuing a bachelor's degree with a strong academic record. A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred, and all majors are considered.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Strong retail math, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You should be able to analyze sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, and other key performance metrics.
- Basic understanding of financial performance metrics, profitability concepts, statistical analysis, and assortment planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret instructional documents.
- Ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and relationship management skills.
- High aptitude with the ability to process information quickly, streamline processes, and drive business results.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
