About the role#
MACOM is seeking a Summer 2027 intern to join the Modeling Test Engineering team in Durham, North Carolina. This role focuses on the characterization and modeling of RF and microwave semiconductor devices. You will work alongside experienced engineers to collect, analyze, and validate measurement data, gaining hands-on experience with advanced measurement systems and automated test software.
What you'll do#
- Assist with DC, pulsed IV, and RF characterization of semiconductor devices.
- Develop and maintain software tools for test automation, data processing, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the modeling team to support device development activities.
- Complete an individual project with defined goals, receive training, and present your work at a poster session.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics.
- Basic programming experience in C#, Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
